Boombara

Boombara

Boombara, a seafood restaurant located at 1&2 Fishermans Co-op, Endeavour Drive, Wollongong, NSW, 2500. It is famous for its fresh seafood and nice sea view. We went there on a weekend.

Salt & chilli squid

With a chilli and sweet lime sauce and salad with honey and soy dressing. This is my favourite dish. Fried squid topped on some black pepper with sweet chilli sauce, that’s really an amazing experience. I am pretty sure that you shouldn’t miss it.

 Pacific Oysters

Boombara has three different types of oysters which are natural, kilpatrick and batterd. With no doubt that natural oyster will let you feel how fresh the oyster are; kilpatrick which is oyster cooked with bacon is a bit salty with their special sauce; batterd oyster tastes creepy. For all the customers, they can choose only type or they can also have a mixed doz like us. But for my own opinion, you may try mixed doz because there will be at least one type could attract you.

Fish of the day

Lightly fried in lemon and dill tempura batter with chips & salad. Actually, I have no idea about what kind of we had. But I have to say, it is fresh, soft and juicy. However, the chips is just so so… but after trying the fish, you will find chips do not matter.

What’s more, we also ordered bucket of prawns and lychee smoothy. I didn’t try prawn because I don’t like it but my friends gave it a high recommandation. Besides, lychee smoothy is also special because it is a mixture of few types of fruits such as lychee, banana etc.  In a word, Boombara is a restaurant worth you try and will not let you regret.
